Partnering With Funeral Homes Across Central Michigan And Beyond.

Funeral directors carry a lot - the logistics, the family, the timing, the emotional weight of every arrangement meeting. When you bring in a celebrant, the goal is to make that load lighter, not heavier.

This page is for funeral directors, end-of-life and hospice professionals, and others who refer families to celebrants for personalized end-of-life ceremonies.

What I Bring To Your Families

When a family requests a personalized service - funeral, memorial, celebration of life, graveside, or any combination - I prepare and serve as officiant for a ceremony that reflects who their loved one truly was. The work is grounded in listening: I meet with the family to gather their stories, then write and deliver a ceremony shaped to fit them.

For families looking for a service outside a single religious tradition, or any tradition at all, a celebrant-led ceremony often fits where clergy-led services don't. Religious, non-religious, interfaith, blended - including cultural traditions and family or community rituals - the shape of the service follows the family's wishes.

I'm also experienced with the harder cases. Complicated family dynamics, deaths under difficult circumstances, services where the right words aren't obvious. When the situation is sensitive, I bring the same care and discretion that the work requires.

How We Work Together

  • The arrangement meeting. During your family arrangement, you can present my services as one of the options for officiating. I provide a simple flat fee structure that you can quote with confidence, no add-ons or surprises.

  • Connection with the family. Once the family chooses to work with me, you connect us. I typically meet with the family by Zoom, scheduled after the arrangement meeting at the funeral home, so the family has a bit of rest between the two. The meeting gives me time to learn about their loved one, gather their stories, and begin shaping the ceremony. Other family members or friends are welcome to join, in person or remotely, so the gathering of stories can include the voices that matter most. From there, I write and deliver the ceremony.

  • Day of service. I arrive 30 minutes prior to the service, prepared, in appropriate attire, with the ceremony printed and ready. I'll check in with your staff before things begin and work within your timing and your venue throughout.

  • Coordination. I'm in regular communication with you and the family in the days leading up to the service. Whatever questions come up - from the family, from your staff, from your team's planning - I'm available.

  • After the service. Families often want a copy of the ceremony, which I provide directly to them.

Fees

I work on a flat-fee basis. The fee covers any service form presented through your arrangement process, funeral, memorial, celebration of life, graveside, or any combination,  and is structured to be simple to quote during family arrangements.

Travel within 20 miles of Mt. Pleasant is included. Beyond that, a travel fee of $0.65 per mile applies, billed with the service.

What You Can Expect From Me

  • Reliable arrival. Thirty minutes before the service, every time, prepared and ready.

  • Professional collaboration. I work within your processes and your staff's expectations.

  • Care with sensitive arrangements. Whatever the family situation, I bring discretion and care to the work.

  • Discretion. What happens with a family stays between us.

  • Continued education. As End-of-Life Instructor at the Celebrant Academy, I stay engaged with the changing landscape of this work and bring that perspective to every service.
